Abstract

Over broadband wireless channels to accomplish reliable high data rate transmission multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technique associate to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique formed as MIMO-OFDM can beused. In this technique channel estimation plays significant role and is that the estimation of radiated data symbols by usingwithproportionate collected data symbols. Whereas coming up with estimator twomain issues can arise. The primary issue is that theframe-up of pilot data, where pilot is that thereference signal used by each TXs andRXs. The secondary issue is that the design ofassociate estimator by considering reduction of channel matrix, noise variance with in calculable channel impulse response (CIR).The conventional channel estimation ways like min. mean sq. error (MMSE) and linear min. mean sq. error (LMMSE) methods uses inverse operation of channel matrix. Dimension of the matrix becomes massive if the amount of subcarriers will increase and therefore the inverse operation becomes complicated. During this paper an intensivestudy on various channel estimation strategies employed in MIMO-OFDM like LS algorithm depends on pilot, min. mean sq. error (MMSE) methodology, linear min. mean sq. error (LMMSE) method, IMMSE method,Chi-squaredistributiontechnique, Haar wavelet channel estimation methods are discussed.
