A Single Stage ZVS PFC Converter with Minimized Losses and High Power Factor

G. Ravivarman and Dr.A. Amudha
Abstract

For low power application with high gain and less noise single stage derived converters are being preferred widely. These topologies may be either fly-back or forward converter topology. For High voltage application it is have proposed an isolated DC-DC switching push pull type converter. In this scheme a new technique to obtain simultaneous shaping of input current with regulated output voltage is proposed. These shaping and regulating are achieved without any additional switches or switching actions. The circuit is made up of two inductors inputted from the push pull converter. The interleaving space between the conductors helps to achieve HPF. Added to the above factors two switches are used to obtain the discontinuous mode of conduction in the inductors to correct the power factor of the convertors. The above described circuit is simulated in the MATLAB SIMULINK software with input of 800W/48V to obtain the efficiency of about (93.4) %.
