Abstract

Steganography is the act of obscuring a piece of information, picture, audio or document within any other message, picture, or document. In this article, we propose a new approach towards encryption technique that uses the concept of steganography and covert image-sharing schemes. The data is first encrypted using cryptography and then concealed in an image using LSB, the key is stored in the first pixel which is created by a mathematical function. The image is then steganographed in another image, shadow images are then used to create identical images to the stego image. Since there are many similar images it deceives the attacker thus preventing potential loss. At the other end, steganalysis is carried out separating cover images with stego image. This method proves effective as there is two level encryptions. The proposed system is more secure and robust due to multistage encryption.
