A Simplified MAC Protocol for Energy Efficiency in Wireless Sensor Network

K. Anitha and S. Usha
Abstract

The invent of Internet-of-Things (IoT) has extended the usability of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Achieving the optimal quality of services (QoS) with minimal power consumption is an open research problem in the context of Medium Access Control Protocol (MACP) with varied traffic load due to scalability of WSNS subnet of IoT. This paper proposed a novel approach of MAC protocol in order to ensure better energy retention. The proposed implementation aims to handle time critical packet issues balancing the trade-off between traffic load and the power consumption to make it more synchronous to the IoT eco-systems using CSMA as well TDMA exploitations. The model is designed to be simulated on the numerical computation platform to validate the energy efficiency.
