The separation techniques of human blood components are presented. Currently, the separation processes are constantly evolving. The latest technologies have been included in this field, in addition to mentioning the advantages of each technique. These techniques have been classified based on how the separation process is performed, such as Optical, magnetic, electrical, Fluidic and Dielectric Phonetic Virtual Pillar Array technologies. In addition to, review the technical developments represented by finding solutions to problems that accompany the process of separation such as clogging and others. The techniques used to date have varied in terms of accuracy, speed and size of the separation, with the accuracy of the separation ranged between 90% addition and separation speed. The experimental results show a high potential for the proposed devices to be part of the integrated point of care diagnostic systems for separation of blood components.
