In recent trends, power demand had increased rapidly due to the expansion of power system network, which resulted in affecting the transmission lines parameters such as steady state power transfer capacity and transient stability. Transient stability should be given more importance as it has more impact on stable power system operation. A three phase fault is created in the transmission line to test the transient dependability upgrade of IEEE 14 bus power system STATCOM (FACTS) controller is used to control the voltage deviations that occurred due to three phase fault. It has been found from time domain simulation that FACTS devices enhance the transient execution of the framework by damping out the power motions under extensive unsettling influence conditions with less settling time thus improving the stability of the system. The analysis has been done in both MATLAB Simulink and PSAT results shows good performance and better results of voltage control with STACOM for the proposed approach.
