Ontologies in Semantic Web: A Comprehensive Analysis

Clara Kanmani A,Pamela Vinitha
Abstract

Ontology is an effective method of knowledge representation. This paper gives an in-depth analysis of how different types of ontologies can be chosen according to the domain requirements and various advantages as well as applications of ontology construction. Semantic web is an extension of web where information on the web is given a well defined meaning. Tons of data available is also published in Linked open Data(LOD). Nowadays it is too complex to publish semantic content and only few existing ontologies are reused and linked. Ontology integration plays a vital role in the realization of semantic web particularly in minimizing response time.
