Sustainability has received more attention in the last few years as companies are becoming more environmentally conscious and governments are making stricter environmental regulations. In industries, one of the main areas where environment effects are more visible is in logistics. Green logistics aims for production and distribution of goods and services in a sustainable way, considering the environmental and social factors. The main aim of this paper is to determine the barriers to implementation of Green Logistics by industries in India and to identify the most influential barriers from the identified barriers list with the help of attributes evaluation and ranking tool using Weka 3.8.We selected 11barriers from the literature. The barriers ranged from technological advances, organizational climate, competition in the market place and the regulatory framework. A set of questions were framed for each barrier, with a view to obtaining the status in India. We sent the questionnaire to logistics professionals working in Indian industries and obtained the responses. The respondents were asked to rate their company’s position with respect to each question on a Likert scale of 1 to 5. From the analysis of data, it has been found that awareness about green practices is a main barrier to implementing green logistics. Cost implications, organizational encouragement and top management commitment are the other top-level barriers.
