Abstract

Every wastewater has problem of effluent treatment including domestic wastewater. This study focused an alternative for treatment of domestic wastewater by using microalgae technology. Microalgae play an important role in the treatment of wastewater. This study aimed to investigate the physiochemical removal by alginateimmobilized microalgae (Botryococcus sp.). The parameters measured are pH, BOD, and COD. The findings revealed that the alginate-immobilized microalgae able to reduce 77.44 % of BOD and 66.57% of COD domestic wastewater. The result may provide sustainable alternative and necessary tools to treat domestic wastewater.
