Abstract

The performance of a Microstrip patch antenna (MPA) depends on the characteristics of the material used as the substrate. Here, a MPA is used for wireless application radiating in the frequency range of 3.1GHz is designed, simulated and tested using FR4 substrate. In this Graphene is taken as the dielectric material and coated over the existing substrate FR4 and the behavior of the MPA with and without inclusion of Graphene are analyzed. MPA parameters like Return Loss, VSWR, Gain, and Directivity are measured and compared. It was found out that the graphene as dielectric substrate material has its control over the gain and bandwidth.
