Due to the shortcomings of short life and low power density of power battery, if power battery is used as the sole energy source of electric vehicle (EV), the power and economy of vehicles will be greatly limited. This paper is concerned with controller based converter topology for the hybrid electric vehicle with the solar as energy source. To boost the output of solar energy a buck boost converter has been designed and its output has been controlled with the PID and intelligent fuzzy controllers. The energy output of the converter has been stored with the combination of ultra capacitor and battery. Also the comparison has been performed between the PID and fuzzy controllers and the entire design is simulated using MATLAB simulink and also hardware circuit of electric vehicle has been implemented.
