Abstract

Agriculture is an old as civilization on this plant. The three basic needs that are food clothing and shelter were the main concern of mankind. The continuous increase in the population and rapid development in the last century have over exploited the natural resources. As a result the natural resources are getting depleted at a much factor rate. Indian agriculture has come a long way from subsistence farming at the time of independence to commercial agriculture and is presently undergoing rapid transformation under the spell of globalization. In the beginning of the new millennium the country achieved these three major revaluations through science and technology. This will influence agriculture technology for precision farming in fundamental manner. There are the gene revaluation, information and communication revaluation and eco technology revaluation. In principle three types of advances, when combined with improvements in management science and governance may greatly increase the power of scientific approach to genetic and agronomic improvement the integrated management of natural resources of eco-systems and the management of local and regional development policies. India’s current position in Area production ranks first compared to the world. But the rank of productivity per hectare was 32 in the care of wheat & 118 in the case of pulses. With the geo graphical area of India 305 Million hectares out of that 50 percent of the area is under cultivation. The total food grains production grows at a rate of 2.5 percent & the rice & wheat grow at a rate of 2.9 percent & 3.5 percent respectively per year. As a result through increase in the food grains production India has achieved the self sufficiency. The Management of supplies in the efficient manner is also eventually.
