One of the most essential matters to materialize over the ancient times has been the rising mixture of the employees. Today’s workforce is distinctive in its generational assortment, which presents latest challenges in the effort to attract, encourage, engage and maintain eminence workforce that coerce towering output in the workplace (Rowe, 2010). These differences can be ascribed to age, gender, race, religion, socioeconomic background, education, experience, and other characteristics. With a latest age group entering the workforce the desires and interests of today’s human resources are varied and satisfying them has become a challenge. This has attracted growing academic work that attempt to offer an understanding of this mounting occurrence. At present, there are three diverse generations in the workforce Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y/Millennials. This study inspects the literature on multi generation workforce and strives to locate the different engagement/commitment practices implemented to inspire the three age groups presently in the work force. The literature is collected from reputed journals like emerald, Elsevier, Sage Publications and other top publishers. The study moreover seeks to come across the common engagement practices of three generations and provide a suggestion to company to implement the same for improved workforce diversity continuance.
