Several Factors Effecting Stress Among Students

Abstract

Stress is a person's physical, emotional and mental response to changes or demands that can trigger anxiety, restless and tension. Stress can also interfere with an individual's thoughts, feelings and daily activities. This study was conducted to examine if several factors; 1) attitude, 2) finances and 3) the environment have effect on learning pressure among students. The questionnaire was distributed to Home Economics students at Sultan Idris University of Education. A total of 159 samples were used and the results showed that attitude (r = .422, ρ<.01), financial factors (r = .395, ρ<.01) and environment (r = .395, ρ<.01) played a role in influencing the learning pressure of students at this institution. This study contributes to the perspective of the development and welfare of students that can be taken into consideration by the institution and the Ministry of Higher Education.
