The problem of modern geodynamics is considered. Data on modern movements of the Earth crust of Central Asia, including of Alatau foothills, which is an increased seismically active geodynamic region is given. The demand for geodynamics is related to large-scale city construction, subway penetration e.t.c. Particular attention is paid to modern determining methods of vertical movements of the earth's surface by highprecision digital leveling and horizontal movements using GPS-measurements. Information on the organization of geodynamic processes monitoring in Almaty geodynamic polygon (GDP) is provided by the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Satbayev University with the use of modern instruments and mathematical processing of its results. The most significant results obtained by these studies are presented.
