A Robust Segmentation of Non-ideal Iris Images

Abstract

This paper suggests a novel iris segmentation framework and extra valid to automatically segment iris region, that supply with robust feasibleness for many applications in police work, the search for missing kids and also forensics, etc. We suggest using “Truncated Total Variation" model to retaining the significant edges and smoothing the uninteresting structures of images and that belong to Iris for the precise iris localization. A sequence of robust and post-processing operations is presented to precisely localize the limbic borders. The outcomes show the utilizing iris masks which created from the planned method assists to enhance iris recognition achievement.
