Digital differentiators are designed by using the combination of system identification and optimization techniques. The unknown filter coefficients are determined by reducing error signal towards zero with the use of a modified Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Technique. Keeping in view of the real time applications of the devices under concentration, only First, Second and third order differentiators are designed. The filter coefficients are tabulated. The designed filters are compared with the existing circuits. All simulations are carried out using MATLAB.
