MATLAB/Simulink Study and Implemetataion of SMC for Two-Level Cascaded Positive output Boost Converter

Abstract

In this article presents the Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB)/Simulation Link (Simulink) study and implementation of variable frequency based Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) for two level cascaded positive output boost converter (TLCPOBC) in high voltage project application. Here, SMC is used to regulate the inductors current and capacitors voltage for this converter. TLCPOBC is one of the topology of developed dc-dc converter that has the proficient voltage transfer gain, small ripples of inductor current/capacitor voltage and good efficiency in comparison with conventional dc-dc converters. The sliding surface coefficient of SMC for the same converter is arrived from the state-space averaging model of it. The performance of the variable frequency SMC is validated at different operating conditions by making the model using MATLAB/Simulink software platform.
