Mathematical Literacy In Spiritual Leadership

Abstract

Spiritual drought in the leadership in mathematical learning inspired this research. This research study aimed to identify mathematical literacy in spiritual leadership in the mathematical learning in junior secondary schools. This research is a qualitative case studyon the mathematical learning taking place at three Islam-based junior secondary schools in the Regency of Banyumas,namely MTsN 1 Banyumas, SMP Al-Irsyad Al- Islamiyah,Banyumas and SMP MuhammadiyahZamzamBanyumas, Middle Java, Indonesia. Data wascollected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document review. Samples were recruited through the snowball sampling technique, and the data collected wasanalyzed using inductive, interactive, and simultaneous analyses and subsequently described and interpreted. The results show that mathematical literacy played a prominent role as a philosophical foundation in spiritual leadership. The mathematical literacy in Islamic spiritual leadership found in this study is in the form:function value literacy, point literacy, universality literacy, and linear equation system with two variables literacy.
