A Novel Architecture for the development of an e-Learning Hybrid Recommender System with Deep Learning Techniques in Big Data Environment

Abstract

Over the past years, there is an escalating growth in the number oflearners using e-learning resources. Since there is a huge amount of information available online, learners are experiencing great difficulties in the retrieval of the exact learning resource that helps them to learn. There are a lot of drawbacks in the existing Recommender Systems and there is a need for more accurate information. The learner’s characteristics aren’t considered nowadays in most of the Recommender System. A framework has been proposed for a Hybrid Recommendation System that uses Big Data and deep learning to give accurate learning resources for the learners. Our approach involves the following steps: (1) Creating Ontology for representing the learner’s Knowledge, (2) Constructing a Framework that involves Big Data and Machine Learning, (3) Implementing a Module in Hadoop. The System will alleviate all the disadvantages and makes use of the latest available technology to recommend the most accurateinformation.
