Estimation Algorithm for Multidimensional Signals Used for Aerial Tracking and Navigation

Aerodynamics, Aeronautics and avionics are the fundamental building blocks for airmanship. Pilotage, VHF omnidirectional radio range (VOR), dead reckoning followed by fusion of navigation aids helps the aircraft to fly and reach the destination safely. This paper describes in detail about the kalman filtering estimation algorithm used for tracking and navigation which results in an optimal solution. The matrix form of multidimensional kalman filter reduces the mean square error within few number of iteration along with the incoming update measurement thus narrowing down towards the true value.
