Abstract

Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) performs a highly significant function in the present scenario in the domain of network technology currently all over the world. The MANET has become the rapidly emerging trend and has turned out to be influential from the preceding decade. A MANET is a sort of wireless network that is organized without the need for a permanent groundwork, instead the mobile nodes are linked through wireless connections. The network topology is volatile and will vary dynamically owing to the devices that are of mobile nature. Hence in MANET the stable routing would not be able to function work appropriately. Earlier ant colony approaches employed for MANET routing, however where new solution selection process is critical which might cause more computation overhead. In this work, a new optimized fault tolerant routing protocol is proposed to achieve enhanced performance for routing in the MANET using modified mutation based ant colony algorithm. The algorithm proposed is designed based on the Qos parameters like reliability, trust level, bandwidth and node degree that are considered for the optimal route path selection in the network. Detecting an effective route and look-ahead route pairs is proposed in this work that assists in selecting the alternate path in the event of failure of the chosen valid route. The experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm proposed selects healthier improved routing choices when compared with the current AODV and ant colony algorithm ACO.
