Renovation of Industrial Buildings by Increasing Energy Efficiency

This article substantiates the relevance of the topic related to the renovation of industrial buildings. Based on the contemporary research analysis, the classification of industrial building types is determined, as well as the most widely used contemporary directions in the transformation of industrial buildings are defined from a functional standpoint. Principles of the energy efficiency design of a building are studied at the city-planning, spatial, structural, and engineering levels. Some features of designing energy-efficient buildings in the regions of Kazakhstan are considered taking into account natural and climatic factors. The authors propose to renovate an inactive industrial facility by improving the energy efficiency of the building taking into account the building's functionality relevant to the particular area.
