Abstract

Ambulance services play a crucial role in saving human lives. It is used to transport sick or injured people from the scene of emergency to a nearby hospital. Functions performed by ambulances need to be broadened to meet the demands of a wide array of medical situations. Hence, time is the critical issue during emergency as every minute wasted can cost the patient his/her life. This proposed idea gives the development of a wireless based system for pulse rate, blood pressure and temperature monitoring to be used in ambulance. By this, the real time information can be passed to nearby hospitals to alert them about the critical conditions over IOT. In India, as ambulances are not properly equipped to handle critical patients, many patients die during transit from the spot of emergency to the hospital. This is because they do not receive medical attention in time. To give them adequate care, initially the process is to continuously monitor the patient health. This hardware device is fixed inside the ambulance to sense the patient’s health, collect the data in a wireless device called node MCU and immediately pass the database to the hospital’s server by the concept of IOT. This may intimate the hospital officials and may respond to the necessary actions to be taken to the person in emergency.
