During electrodialysis there occur temperature effects, which influence all physical properties of water. This exerts effect on ion transport. Thus, it is important to analyze the influence of combined temperature effect related with noncatalytic dissociation of water molecules and Joule heating of solution on transport of binary salt ions in diffusion layer near cation exchange membrane. This work is aimed at determination of major regularities of transport of binary salt ions near ion exchange membrane with consideration for dissociation (recombination) of water molecules and temperature effects. The purposes of the work are as follows: development of mathematical model; development of algorithm of numerical solution of boundary problem corresponding to mathematical model; development of similarity theory (including transition to dimensionless form using characteristic quantities; determination of physical sense of trivial similarity criteria),detection of nontrivial similarity criteria; prediction and analysis of current–voltage characteristic (CVC), comparison of theoretically established major regularities of ion transport with experimental data both in sublimiting and over-limiting current modes.
