Purpose: The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of risk on the image of tourism destination, attitudes and intentions of tourists visiting when natural disasters occur. Design / methodology / approach: A type of quantitative study, using a pre-existing measurement scale. The number of samples of 90 foreign tourists visiting Bali when the eruption of Mount Agung took place. Findings: The results show the strength of tourism destination image makes tourists not too consider the risks that cause tourist risk perception does not affect the attitudes and intentions of tourists visiting, but tourist risk perception significantly negatively affects the tourism destination image. The attitude and intention to revisit are significantly shaped by the positive influence of tourism destination image. Practical / implications: The results of this study provide important lessons that, tourism destination image can be used as a strategy to overcome the negative effect of risk on the attitudes and intentions of tourists to visit again in the aftermath of natural disasters, so it is very important to maintain the destination's image.
