Relevance: The relevance of the study is associated with the fact that the nature and degree of government influence on entrepreneurial activity in Russia depend on the effectiveness and pace of economic development in market conditions. The authors substantiate the conclusion that the impact differs through legal personality or within a specific legal relation depending on the method of establishing a legal relationship between the state and entrepreneurs. Purpose: The purpose of the article is to study the legal mechanisms of state influence (regulation) on entrepreneurial activity. The authors also aim to determine the state regulation of entrepreneurial activity through the management of the state and its relevant authorized bodies, aimed at regulating economic relations in the field of entrepreneurship to protect the public and private interests of participants in these relations. Methods: The leading method is the deductive method, which allows studying the legal nature and features of state regulation of entrepreneurial activity in Russia. The article also uses the inductive method, the method of systematic scientific analysis, comparative legal and historical methods. The leading method, which is the basis for solving the problem, is to study the legal foundations of state regulation of entrepreneurial activity. Results: The article confirms the unresolved theoretical problem of determining the legal nature of the concept of state regulation of entrepreneurial activity in modern Russia and defines the main directions (legal mechanisms) of state influence on the economy in a market environment. The article proves that the feature of state regulation in most cases is revealed through the category of activity. Therefore, state regulation of entrepreneurial activity is a management activity of the state and its relevant authorized bodies, aimed at regulating economic relations in the field of entrepreneurship to protect the public and private interests of participants in these relations.
