At the same time, the increase in urban population has resulted in greater expose to a larger percentage of population due to traffic. The effect of noise on human depends upon its level and frequency. In the present investigation, the impact of noise and its effects on health are addressed. For this purpose, four busy junctions in Tirupati town have been selected and traffic noise levels measured on different days from 8AM to 8PM. Later, data has been collected from the shop-owners to find the health problems due to traffic noise. It is found that 65% to 75% of the population in shops is affected due to traffic noise. Also, found that the impact on health has increased with the increase in traffic and its noise.
