Contribution to the Modelling of the Irradiation of the Biological Medium by Protons

Protontherapy is an advanced radiotherapy technique intended primarily for children. This modality for cancer cells treatment, is charactized by specific ballistic properties in order to optimize the irradiation dose in malignant tumours while sparing the neighbouring sensitive organs. The protons beam deposit a large portion of their energy by inelastic interactions with the outer shell electrons of medium molecules. In this work, we are content to study the irradiation of water Molecules, and we will present the curves of the range as a function of the incident energy of the charged particle. Our main purpose is the exploitation of the code GEANT4 and the 2 software SRIM and DOSIMEX in order to position of the Bragg peak, and in the continuity of this work we will find the most similar theory to the experimental results published by ICRU.
