Technology Transfer Analysis in Industrial Ecosystems: Case of Souss-Massa Processing Industries

Moulay Abdessadk El Hamdani and Abdelaziz Bendou
Abstract

Technology Transfer is one of the key factors in the competitiveness of industries. In Morocco, and since 2014, the Industrial Acceleration Plan (PAI) is based on the establishment of industrial ecosystems designed to create a new dynamic and a new relationship between large groups and Small and medium-sized enterprises. The logic of industrial ecosystems is aimed at optimizing economic spin-offs through industrial compensation (offset). This makes it possible to multiply the investment, to increase the added value in the industrial sectors and to improve the balance of payments by favouring the purchases of products and services from the local industrial firms. Several modes of technology transfer will be studied to examine its impact within ecosystems on the one hand and in connection with the national system of scientific research on the other hand. In our study we will proceed to a detailed analysis of the modes of technology transfer in the region of Souss-Massa, towards the Moroccan SMEs as part of the existing industrial ecosystems. We will also analyse the consequences of this transfer on the growth of added value within industrial sectors.
