Speed Sensorless Vector Control of a PMSM Using MRAS based on Sugeno Fuzzy Inference System Adaptation Mechanism

This paper presents the design of speed sensorless vector control of PMSM by using MRAS method. The adaptation scheme used in this project is based on the Takagi Sugeno FIS method. It is implemented to replace the conventional method which is proportional-integral (PI) controller. This new technique is based on Takagi Sugeno Fuzzy Inference System (TS-FIS). This new method can overcome the problem of tuning parameters in the traditional method when there is a change in the motor condition such as variation of load and speed. The efficiency and accuracy of the proposed designed in detecting rotor position angle is validated in Matlab/Simulink and obtained results are compared with conventional method. The analysis is carried out by comparing the both methods, MRAS-TS and MRAS-PI in different cases of motor conditions. It shows that the proposed method can track the motor speed and rotor position angle accurately.
