Multiband High Gain Microstrip Patch Antenna at Ka Band (26 GHz)

This paper gives an optimized modified multiband high gain micro strip antenna which has modified rectangular ring with fork strip which is designed to have 26 GHz for Ka band. The proposed antenna is designed using Rogers RT3003 substrate material with a dielectric constant of 3 and thickness 1.6 mm. Thedesigned antenna is simulated using HFSS and resonated at multi band covering lower band of 26.69 – 26.93 GHz with centre frequency 26.87 GHz; mid band of 29.61 – 32.12 GHz with centre frequency 30.47 GHz and higher band of 34.83 – 36.19 GHz with centre frequency 35.5 GHz, with corresponding bandwidths of 0.24 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 1.36 GHz, respectively. The gain has been improved compared to the existing microstrip patch antenna at 26 GHz.
