Effat Smart Parking System

The advancement in all aspects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia such as technological and economical have led to development of smart cites. The concept of smart cites utilize the benefits of Internet of Things (IoT) to manage the user’s assets. The new regulations regarding women driving will critically increase the number of drivers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Issue of vehicle parking and traffic congestion is unavoidable. Smart Parking System is a parts of smart cities concept, which play an important role. Therefore, this study integrates the IoT with mobile application to implement smart parking system. The proposed mobile application demonstrated the feature to describe the parking condition and parking slot reservation in compound of Effat University. This application reducing the time to find the parking slots which in turn even reduces the environmental issues.
