DE Assisted LFC of an Interconnected Power System with DFIG Wind Model under Restructured Environment

Abstract

Automatic generation control (AGC) of multi-area multi-machine power system with both DC and AC power transfer links in presence of wind generating system is studied in this paper. Instead of concentrated environment, deregulated environment is presented in this paper. The presence of wind system in the test system influence the frequency under constant load conditions leads the frequency oscillations. The secondary proportional-integral-derivative controller is provided which improves the overall system performance in presence of wind along with sudden load disturbances. The secondary controller parameters are optimized using Differential Evaluation technique. The investigation is also done with multi-objective including ITSE and ITAE along with ISE. The simulations are done in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.
