Abstract

In human body, a hamstring is present in between the hip and knee. There are number of exercise available for stretching the hamstring muscles like bridge, lunge, leg curl, slide leg and knee bend. Hamstring injury can occur if the tendons or muscles are stretched beyond their limit. They often occur during sudden, explosive movements, such as sprinting, lunging or jumping. We need to design an exerciser which can strengthen the hamstring muscle. An exerciser is much more needed to strengthening hamstring muscle for patients who are in coma or affected by paralysis. As there is no movement of body by these bed rest patients so requirement of automatic exerciser is much more important. In recent these exercises are done by physiotherapist which causes serious backbone injuries to them as they have to deal with several patients. So such automatic exerciser is much more needed.
