The Role of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management in Limiting the Spread of the Coronavirus in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan a Study from the Perspective of Experts in Crisis Management

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management in limiting the spread of the Coronavirus in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from the viewpoint of experts in crisis management. The sample consisted of 9 experts in crisis management. The method of possible scenarios of the spreading of Coronavirus was used. The study concluded that the scenario of fundamental transformation, which is to limit the spread and control the virus, is preferred by crisis experts, where the experts outlined the procedures carried out by the National Center for Security and Crisis Management in terms of quarantine and isolation of entire cities, stopping the movement of people and deploying the army to help the population and providing them with supplies and medicines, in addition to closing bank branches in malls and shopping centers, excluding shops of food and pharmacies, closing airports and land borders with neighboring countries for a period of 14 days, which is the incubation period of the Coronavirus, and finally placing people arriving in Jordan within the quarantine for 14 days according to the circulars of the Ministry of Health in Jordan.
