Abstract

Agricultural lands are strategic resource which determines national state security. Efficient management of resources is significantly determined by informational content regarding position, form, sizes, and configuration of cultivated lands, fertility, agrochemical and agro technical properties of lands, localization of infrastructural facilities. Aiming at achievement of dominant position in external markets as well as at efficient development of water sector of economy and water management, the melioration of irrigated lands requires for R&D support. Modern level of development of means and methods of satellite exploration of Earth, software of space data processing, and wide usage of geo information systems (GIS) make it possible to acquire online high-quality and reliable information about land state, surface facilities, occurring processes, as well as dynamics of their variation. New quality of information determines new procedural approaches and challenging technologies of acquisition and targeted application of Earth remote sensing(ERS) data for integrated studies, analysis, and efficient management of regional development.
