According to WHO, pre-eclampsia occupies one of the first places in the structure of maternal mortality, being the cause of premature births, premature detachment of the normally located placenta, development of fetoplacental insufficiency, delay of intrauterine fetal development, the birth of children with low body weight. This work is devoted to the development of modern methods of early diagnostics and forecasting of complications in pregnant women with hypertensive conditions. The article presents modern data on morphofunctional changes in the placenta and placental area in women with pre-eclampsia of various degrees. The review includes sources of domestic and foreign literature on the subject under study.
