Development of tourist industry in the Republic of Dagestan under the conditions of a pandemic

The article is devoted to the research of development of tourist industry of the Republic of Dagestan in current conditions. Distinctive features of the region, which can be taken into account when developing regional tourist product, have been considered. Tourist opportunities of the region have been analyzed, sociological research among practicing tour guides has been carried out to determine the further way of tourism development in conditions of restrictive measures. The authors have raised the problem of damage to the tourist industry as a result of the spread of COVID 19. The role of the state in addressing the issues of material support to enterprises that suffered most during the spread of coronovirus pandemic has been noted. Finally, solutions to this situation have been proposed. Attention is drawn to the fact that for today the development of domestic tourism is perspective. Development of tourist infrastructure in the regions of the Russian Federation should become a priority task.
