This article is written to scientifically substantiate the theoretical foundations of the formation of spiritual and moral qualities in younger students. The following tasks are defined in the article: how to study the formation of the theory and practice of the formation of spiritual and moral qualities in younger schoolchildren; to reveal the essence and content of spiritual and moral representations in elementary schoolchildren as the basis of the moral culture of a person; to determine the criteria and indicators of the formation of spiritual and moral ideas and qualities among younger students; to determine the most effective methods and means of forming spiritual and moral qualities in younger students; to develop and test in extracurricular activities a scientifically based model of the system of formation of spiritual and moral qualities in younger students; to develop scientifically based recommendations for parents and teachers on the spiritual and moral education of children.
