Stunting Risk Factors for Under Five Years: Emperical Evidence from South Sulawesi

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship patterns of nutritional care, basic nursing care patterns, hygiene individual, and a touch of affection parents with the incidence of stunting in children under five years old. This study uses research methods analytical observational study design with a cross-sectional survey approach. The research was conducted in Pinrang, which started in April to October 2016. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The sample in this research amounted to 227 mothers with children under five years with a sampling technique uses accidental sampling. Data were analyzed by the chi-square test significant p <0.05. There are some findings very fundamental that the pattern of nutritional care, basic nursing care patterns, patterns, personal hygiene care, and a touch of affection parents turned out to contribute to the occurrence of stunting. This indicates that there is a correlation pattern of nutritional care, basic nursing care patterns, patterns of personal hygiene care, and a touch of affection parents with the incidence of stunting in children under five years old.
