This research evaluated the techno-economic potential for a PV- Battery storage-Diesel generator fusion system to provide electrical power to the household consumer in a town Bhubaneswar, odisha, India. It evaluated the cost of energy (COE) as well as the operation strategy for hybrid system taking in to account of the mean solar irradiation, load and temperature. The comparison of performances of the system performed using both the control strategies, resulted that the cycle charging method adopted more reliable, cheaper and efficient than the load following control strategy. The obtained result of COE for cycle charging dispatch control method is lower than the load following. There is saving potential with cycle charging dispatch control method for household consumer.
