Automated detection of abnormalities and classification of breast cancer in digital mammograms had now become the most significant research area in the cure of Breast Cancer. With the development in computer-aided diagnosis; machine learning methodologies are widely used in breast cancer detection. For the better performance by the Computer aided system, the deep learning has been highlighted in spite of feature engineering in latest years This paper gives the survey of various machine learning and deep learning based techniques implemented by various authors for the automatic detection of breast cancer in combination with analysis of performance parameter like accuracy, specificity, sensitivity and area under the curve. A brief overview of different databases used for automated cancer detection using machine learning and deep learning is also given here
