This article summarizes the methods of assessing agrotourism potential in rural areas and is based on the need for a complex assessment. The concept of "tourist potential", the factors influencing its formation and evaluation parameters are also studied. The advantages of agrotourism in terms of social perception are highlighted. The stages of assessment of the tourist-recreational potential and agro-tourism attractiveness of the region are given. The use of generalized methods allows for an objective assessment of the potential of agrotourism, taking into account the specifics of each region.
