MANET is the infrastructure-less, self-organized wireless network. Here, the mobile nodes can join the group or leave from the network group dynamically. The power-aware routing is highly attractive in the mobile network, as the power of the nodes is drained out during operation. The mobile nodes perform well in forwarding the packets and participate in the routing mechanism with other nodes only when the node has sufficient power. In power-aware secure routing, the power must be distributed evenly to the nodes at the same time in such a way that the performance of the nodes will be increased. However, the nodes that do not have sufficient energy cause frequent route failure problems due to the broken link in the network. Thus, establishing and maintaining an energy efficient optimal route in MANET is the major concern to enhance the lifetime of the network. The proposed poweraware routing mechanism contains three different phases, like discovering the path, optimization framework, and establishing the optimal path. Initially, the paths available in the network are selected such that the optimal path used to transfer the data from source to destination is selected using the proposed Self Improved PSO (SI-PSO) approach. However, the selection of optimal path is made with the determined fitness like minimum distance, minimum power, minimum congestion, and minimum packet drop ratio as well. The performance of the proposed model will be analyzed over the traditional approaches concerning Energy, Delay, and Network Lifetime as well.
