Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of international mobility as measured by the amount of remittance sent to the area of origin on changes in the socio-economic conditions of families in Tumpukrenteng Village. This study uses a quantitative design with a survey approach. The population in the study was 202 Indonesian Workers (TKI). The number of samples is 30 TKI. Descriptive data analysis is used to describe the data and simple linear regression analysis is used for the hypothesis test. The results of data analysis indicate that the significance value is 0.006 or smaller (<) than 0.05. Based on these considerations it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that population mobility (TKI) has a significant effect on the socio-economic conditions of families in the area of origin. The amount of influence can be seen from the results of R Square, which is 0.237. This number means that the effect of population mobility (TKI) on socioeconomic conditions is 23.7%. These results indicate remittance has a positive impact on improving socioeconomic aspects. Remittance has the potential as an alternative solution to poverty in the village
