Utilization of Local Resources as a Strategy in Community Development in the Ciletuh- Palabuhan Ratu Geopark Area

Community development can be categorized as a process of providing opportunities to the community. In the process of community development requires support from various aspects, including aspects of assets or potential. In this study, try to identify the use of local resources or assets in community development as a strategy. This study has its own uniqueness with its location in the geopark region, namely the Ciletuh- PalabuhanRatuGeopark Area, with the condition of resources that have the potential to be developed and utilized. Such as potential natural resources include Panenjoan Cliffs, Waterfall Tourism, Beach Tourism, people who are skilled as tour guides, hand crafts, and so on. In the utilization and management of these resources the community is led by active social institutions in various conservation activities namely PAPSI (PaguyubanAlamPakidulanSukabumi) by involving various stakeholder elements both from within and from outside the geopark area. This research is expected to be able to enrich the concept of community development, especially in the context of communities in the geopark region. The research findings show that the available resources have been optimally utilized, although there are some obstacles in terms of managing these resources collectively.
