Aspect Oriented Software Development (AOSD) provides systematic mean for modularization on the basis of concerns. The separation of concerns makes it easier to manage the software by attempting to group features and behaviors in manageable parts. This modularization is possible using modular unit called aspect that crosscuts the structure of other unit. Aspect Oriented requirement engineering (AORE) is an important activity in (AOSD). AORE aims to identify early aspects from initial phases of software development such as domain analysis, requirements specification and architectural design. These aspects are termed as early aspects. Several treatments are proposed to identify, separate, these concerns and are encapsulated in separate composition to form aspects in requirement engineering phase. The motive of this paper is to review different approaches based on type of requirement engineering decomposition technique such as use case based, goal based etc. for extracting early aspects. This paper concludes with identified opportunities for usage of extracted early aspect as programmatic intent for developing latest software application using Aspect Oriented Programming.
