Abstract

This paper presents an exploration of the intersection between green chemistry and sustainable engineering, with a focus on advancing environmentally benign processes. In the face of global environmental challenges, the imperative for developing sustainable practices in chemical and engineering processes has become increasingly urgent. Green chemistry principles offer a framework for designing chemical processes that minimize waste, reduce toxicity, and conserve energy and resources. Sustainable engineering extends these principles to encompass the broader system-level considerations, including lifecycle analysis, process optimization, and renewable energy integration. Through the integration of green chemistry and sustainable engineering principles, researchers and practitioners can develop innovative solutions for addressing environmental concerns while meeting societal needs. This paper examines key concepts and methodologies in both fields, highlighting examples of successful implementation and discussing future directions for advancing environmentally sustainable practices in the chemical and engineering industries.
