This paper explores the emerging trends and applications of edge computing within the domain of computer science engineering. Edge computing has emerged as a transformative paradigm that brings computation and data storage closer to the location where it is needed, enabling real-time processing, low latency, and bandwidth efficiency. This paper provides an overview of key concepts in edge computing, including edge devices, edge networks, and edge applications. It investigates the diverse applications of edge computing across various domains, such as Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, augmented reality (AR), and industrial automation. Additionally, the paper discusses emerging trends in edge computing architectures, including federated learning, decentralized edge networks, and edge-cloud integration. Through case studies and examples, we highlight successful implementations and ongoing research efforts driving the adoption of edge computing. By elucidating the potential and challenges of edge computing, this paper aims to provide insights for researchers, practitioners, and industry stakeholders in computer science engineering to harness the power of edge computing for innovative and scalable solutions.
